Red Rocks Remain Perfect In Pac-12 Action With Win Over Rival UCLA

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The third ranked Red Rocks needed a big floor routine at the end in order to pick up a 197.225-197.100 win over 14th ranked UCLA.
The Red Rocks got a massive 9.925 floor routine from Sydney Soloski to clinch the win over UCLA.
Chae Campbell won the all-around title as the UCLA star recorded a 39.425. Maile O’Keefe had a 39.325 score for Utah in the all-around.

The Red Rocks started the first rotation on vault with UCLA on bars. Alexia Burch tied her career-high of 9.975. Lucy Stanhope added a 9.875 and both Cristal Isa and Jaedyn Rucker notched 9.825 scores. Utah held a 49.300-49.100 lead after the first rotation.

The second rotation featured Utah on bars and the Bruins on vault. It was a little bump in the road for Utah but they were able to correct their mistakes. Isa and Maile O’Keefe won the event with a pair of 9.875 scores. Emilie LeBlanc, Alani Sabado and Alexia Burch each recorded 9.825 scores. The Red Rocks took a 98.525-98.275 advantage after two rotations.

On the third rotation, the Utes were on the beam, while UCLA was on the floor. O’Keefe won the event for Utah with a staggering 9.90. Isa recorded a 9.875 score. Burch and Randall had a pair of 9.85 scores. The Bruins gained some ground on the floor but the Red Rocks still had a 147.775-147.675 lead entering the final rotation.

The final rotation had Utah on the floor and UCLA on the beam. Sydney Soloski won the event for Utah with a 9.925. Abby Paulson finished with a score of 9.90. Jaylene Gilstrap, Lucy Stanhope and Jaedyn Rucker each finished with a 9.875 score.

The Red Rocks improved their record to 7-1 overall and 4-0 in Pac-12 play. They will remain at home at the Jon M. Huntsman Center on Friday, February 26 to face California. The meet will begin at 7 p.m. MST and will be televised on the Pac-12 Networks.
