SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell is keeping himself motivated with the number 46 on his shoes which is his regular season career-high.
During the Jazz recent game against the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday evening, Donovan Mitchell had “46 PTS” on the side of his shoes, which was a special edition of his Adidas D.O.N. Issue #2.
The 46 points represents his regular season career high total, which Mitchell has scored three times in his career.

During Mitchell’s rookie year, he scored over 40 points once. On March 2, 2019, Mitchell scored a career-high 46 points in Utah’s win over the Milwaukee Bucks. In just his second season, Mitchell went 15-of-32 from the field, 5-for-10 from the three-point line and 11-of-14 from the foul line. Mitchell went on to tie that career mark in the penultimate game of the 2018-19 season when he dropped 46 points on the Denver Nuggets at home. The star went 14-of-26 from the floor, 5-for-8 from beyond the arc and 13-of-16 at the free throw line.
During the 2019-20 season, Mitchell tied his career-high of 46 again. This time it was in Utah’s six-point loss to the New Orleans Pelicans in the Big Easy. In the postseason, Mitchell had three games over 40 points, including two games over 50 points in the NBA bubble. Mitchell scored 57 points in Game 1 of the playoff series against Denver. Then he had 51 in Game 4 and 44 points in Game 6. The Jazz lost to the Nuggets in seven games.
This season, Mitchell has scored over 20 points in five of their six games. He has struggled though, shooting below 40 percent in all but two games. Mitchell had 22 points, 4 rebounds and 9 assists in the Jazz’ 130-109 win over the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday. The All-Star shot 8-of-17 from the floor and 5-for-9 from downtown.
Utah will be back in action on Tuesday, January 5 against the Brooklyn Nets at 5:30 p.m. MST on AT&T SportsNet.
