PROVO, Utah – BYU football had a breakthrough on the field with a 10-win regular season and off the field with the highest-ranked recruiting class in four years. The pandemic, despite all of its awful flaws, has produced a great year for the Cougars.

BYU looks to keep building on all of the momentum gained this year with National Signing Day as the Cougars class of 2021 commits make their pledges official with letters of intent.

This year’s class didn’t have many pressing needs as Kalani Sitake’s program has built up a nice stable of depth and missionaries ready to matriculate into the program next year. On defense, cornerbacks and defensive ends were and always will be an area of focus for BYU’s recruiting efforts annually.

For the offense, landing some offensive linemen to bolster the depth was a top priority.

BYU is calling this crop of 2021 commits “Top Guns.” Using the hashtag #TopGuns21. Who are the “Top Guns?” Here’s a quick snapshot of all the commits heading into National Signing Day.

BYU Football 2021 Commits

Listed in alphabetical order

John Henry Daley | DE/OLB | Lone Peak High School

Turned down Stanford and Washington State to sign with BYU. BYU was always a dream school for the talented edge rusher who has family connections to David Nixon and Taysom Hill. He can bend like Gumby and turn on the fourth gear to create havoc for any opposing quarterback.

Jovesa Damuni | ATH | Ridgeline High School

If you watched any Ridgeline games, you saw Jovesa Damuni making plays on both sides of the field. Damuni turned down Utah State to play for the Cougars. He is a cousin to fellow BYU commit Raider Damuni.

Raider Damuni | DB | Timpview High School

It’s not often you see prospects offered in eighth grade and then add, on top of that, prospects who remain committed to the same school during that entire time. Damuni has been one of the top players in the state the past three seasons at Timpview. He played darn near every position during his high school career, including punter and kicker. He’ll slide into BYU’s defensive secondary after he serves a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Logan Fano | DE/OLB | Timpview High School

The highest-rated prospect in BYU’s 2021 class according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Fano, like Damuni, was offered as an eighth-grader. But unlike his best friend, he de-committed and explored other opportunities that included offers from Utah, Oklahoma, and Washington. Ultimately, the strong connection and bond to Coach Kalani Sitake and his recruiting staff won the day for the elite four-star prospect.

Isaiah Glasker | DB/WR | Bingham High School

Glasker has grown up in a BYU family with both parents attending the faith-based university. Once he received an offer from BYU, the Cougars catapulted to his No. 1 school. The Bingham product played at wide receiver and in the secondary. He projects to play safety at BYU as he formed a close relationship with safeties coach Preston Hadley during the recruiting process.

Kyson Hall | WR | Maple Mountain High School

The son to former BYU great Kalin Hall and younger brother to former RB KJ Hall and current QB Jaren Hall, Kyson Hall is the next member of the Hall family to pick BYU. A 5-foot-11, 175-pound wide receiver Hall has been committed to BYU since the spring of 2019. Hall showed the top-end speed that made him a big-play threat at all times during his high school career.

Dallin Havea | RB/LB | Provo High School

The bond between BYU coach Kalani Sitake and the Havea family was a big factor in Havea committing to BYU recently. Sitake stayed true to his word with scholarship offers to both Dallin and older brother Drason while the two battled injuries during their high school careers. Havea rewarded that commitment by giving his verbal to Sitake. BYU has been recruiting him as a running back, but he could also be a hard-hitting linebacker.

Sione Hingano | OL | Chandler High School (AZ)

BYU has built a great pipeline from Chandler High School, and Hingano is the latest prospect to come from the talent-rich school in the Grand Canyon State. At 6-foot-5, 290-pounds, Hingano could play several positions along the offensive line for the Cougars.

Nathan Hoke | LB | North Allegheny High School (PA)

The son of former BYU and Pittsburgh Steeler great Chris Hoke, Nathan Hoke had great mentors to help him get involved in football. Hoke great up a fan of BYU and jumped on the offer to play for the Cougars. He was a leader on a defensive-minded North Allegheny squad that got off to a late start with its season due to COVID-19.

Weston Jones | OL | Romeo High School (MI)

It’s not often BYU goes into Big Ten country to land a prospect. Jones had offers from some of 2020’s best teams in Iowa State and Indiana, but he picked BYU. Growing up in a BYU family that includes family ties to BYU tight end Matt Bushman, Jones couldn’t turn down the Cougars. He projects to be an interior offensive lineman.

Elia Migao | OL | Chaparral High School (CA)

Migao’s size at 6-foot-2, 320-pounds alone garnered seven Power 5 programs to offer the interior offensive line mauler. He’s the fourth-highest rated prospect in this class according to the 247Sports Composite.

Enoka Migao | DE | Chaparral High School (CA)

Twin brother to Elia, but he has a completely different body type. Enoka is a 6-foot-5, 230-pound defensive end. Last season, Migao had 37 tackles and four sacks last year in a competitive Southwestern League of the CIF Southern Section.

Bentley Redden | TE | San Clemente High School (CA)

The son of a former BYU football player, Redden is a brilliant football player and a student. Earning a 4.33 GPA, Redden held offers from the elite Ivy League schools and Power 5 schools such as Tennessee and Nebraska. San Clemente has been a hotbed for BYU talent in recent years, with Isaac and Preston Rex as recent additions. Redden is next in line where he will compete at tight end, but he could also play on the defensive side at defensive end.

Quenton Rice | WR | Faith Lutheran High School (NV)

Rice has a connection to BYU through his dad, former All-American Rodney Rice. At 6-foot-1, 170-pounds fits the mold of what BYU likes in a lot of their recruits; athletes who could play a variety of positions.

Dylan Rollins | OL | Sentinel High School (MT)

Montana is not a typical hotbed for BYU or any college football program. Rollins, the No. 1 recruit in Montana, is the first recruit to receive an FBS scholarship from Big Sky Country in seven years. The 6-foot-5, 284-pound tackle was a late addition last week to BYU’s class.

Ricky Wolfgramm | DL | East High School (UT)

Like Damuni and Fano, Wolfgramm committed to BYU when he was in eighth grade. Wolfgramm stayed committed to the Cougars throughout his entire recruitment. Began his career as a defensive end. During his senior year at East, he shifted more to the line’s interior as a defensive tackle.
