Tevian Jones Scores Career-High In Southern Utah’s Win Over Utah Valley

OREM, Utah – Southern Utah guard Tevian Jones dropped a career-high in points during the Thunderbirds’ victory over in-state foe Utah Valley.

The Wolverines hosted the T-Birds at the UCCU Center in Orem on Wednesday, December 9.
Southern Utah beat the UVU, 81-71.
Jones led SUU with 33 points on 10-23 shooting. He went 5-12 from three.

His previous career-high was 22 points, which came during the second game of the 2020-21 season.
The Thunderbird guard added five rebounds and one assist.

Southern Utah controlled the majority of the contest and jumped out to an early lead.
At halftime, the Thunderbirds owned a nine-point advantage.

The Wolverines fought back during the opening portion of the second half and cut SUU’s lead to one with 14:45 to go.
Southern Utah regained control and held on for the 10-point victory.

With the loss, UVU fell to 2-2 on the season.

The Thunderbirds improved to 4-1 with the win.
Southern Utah’s next game is against the Dixie State Trailblazers on Thursday, December 17 at 7 p.m. (MDT).
