Knight III Leads Southern Utah Past Montana In One-Point Victory

CEDAR CITY, Utah – John Knight III helped the Southern Utah Thunderbirds eek out a one-point victory over the Montana Grizzlies.
The T-Birds hosted the Grizzlies on Thursday, December 3.
Southern Utah defeated Montana, 64-63.
Knight led SUU with 21 points on 5-12 field goals. It was a seas0n-high scoring total for the Thunderbirds guard.

In addition to his overall shooting, Knight went 10-15 from the free-throw line while adding nine rebounds, three assists, and three steals to his box score.

Maizen Fausett was the only other Southern Utah player to score in double figures against Montana. He added 14 points on 5-9 shooting.
The Thunderbirds shot 32.7 percent overall compared to the Grizzlies’ 49.0 percent.

Josh Vazquez led Montana with 14 points.
The Grizzlies fell to 0-2 on the season with the result.
With the win, SUU improved to 2-1 on the season.

Southern Utah’s next game is the second contest of a back-to-back with Montana. The Grizzlies and Thunderbirds will tip-off on Saturday, December 5 at 12 p.m. (MDT).
