Tevian Jones’ 22 Points Help Southern Utah To Blowout Win Over St. Katherine

CEDAR CITY, Utah – Tevian Jones scored a game-high 22 points in Southern Utah’s 95-47 win over St. Katherine.
Jones finished with one rebound, one assist and one steal while shooting 9-of-10 from the field and a perfect 4-for-4 from the three-point line.
It was the home opener for the Thunderbirds after losing at Loyola Marymount at the buzzer on Wednesday. Southern Utah had a great first half, scoring 45 points and holding St. Katherine to 26.
The Thunderbirds shot 65 percent from the field on 17-of-26 shooting and 8-for-17 from beyond the arc in the first 20 minutes. They outscored St. Katherine 50-21 in the second half.

In the game, SUU shot 58 percent from the floor, 40 percent from deep and 64 percent at the foul line. They outrebounded the visiting team, 35-27 and out-assisted them 23-10.
Dre Marin added 15 points, John Knight III had 12 points and 6 assist, along with 11 points from Harrison Butler. Maizen Fausett was the fifth Thunderbird to reach double figures with 10 points.
SUU improved to 1-1 on the season. They will begin Big Sky Conference play on Thursday, December 3 as they host Montana. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. MST and will be broadcast on PlutoTV.
