Utah State Falls To 0-4 After Promising Start Against Fresno State

LOGAN, Utah – The Utah State Aggies dropped to a record of 0-4 on the season after suffering a loss to the Fresno State Bulldogs following a promising start to the game.
The Aggies hosted the Fresno State Bulldogs at Maverik Stadium on Saturday, November 14.
It was the first game for USU since Frank Maile took over as interim head coach following Gary Andersen’s exit from the program.
Utah State opened the game with an 86-yard touchdown run by Jaylen Warren on its first offensive touch of the game to take a 7-0 lead.

After a touchdown response by Fresno State, the Aggies moved back in front with a touchdown on a 94-yard kickoff return by Savon Scarver.

That was where the USU touchdowns came to an end.
Fresno State went on to outscore Utah State 21-3 in the second quarter and 7-0 in the second half.
USU had 343 yards of total offense compared to 541 yards by Fresno State.
Each team turned the ball over twice.
Aggie quarterback Jason Shelley was 9/24 passing for 144 yards and had 12 carries for eight yards.
Jaylen Warren led the Utah State offense with nine rushes for 136 yards and one touchdown.
The Bulldogs improved to 3-1 on the season and the Aggies lost their fourth straight to start 2020.
