Their drive started at their own 22-yard line and began with a two yard run by Gunner Romney. Zach Wilson completed a 10-yard pass to Dax Milne followed by a two-yard pass to Neil Pau’u. Lopini Katoa had two straight carries for two yards. Then a big pass completion from Wilson to Milne for 21 yards put the Cougars in UTSA territory.
Allgeier ran the ball three straight times for 27 yards. Katoa took the Cougars to the UTSA 6-yard line with a 5 yard run. That set up the TD from Allgeier to seal the deal.
The Roadrunners quickly scored after the touchdown but couldn’t recover the onside kick and BYU ran out the clock to win the game.
Allgeier finished the game with 18 carries for 118 yards and one touchdown, averaging 6.6 yards per carry.
Wilson threw for 292 yards, completing 22-30 passes for 2 touchdowns and another TD on the ground to go with 19 rushing yards.
