BYU QB Zach Wilson Executes Two-Minute Drill With Dart To Gunner Romney

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – BYU quarterback Zach Wilson executed a flawless two-minute drill and marched the Cougars down the field on a drive that resulted in a touchdown pass to Gunner Romney.
The No. 22 ranked Cougars hosted the Bulldogs at LaVell Edwards Stadium on Friday, October 2.
BYU’s defense forced Louisiana Tech to punt the ball with less than two minutes to go until halftime. Wilson and the Cougars took the field at their own 20-yard line with 1:29 remaining in the second quarter.
The junior quarterback worked the sidelines and marched BYU down the field in five plays that took only 37 seconds off the clock.

Wilson began the drive with a 15-yard keeper before connecting on four consecutive throws of 11 yards or more. The drive was capped off by a 22-yard dime from Wilson to Romney with 59 seconds left in the half.
Romney split a pair of La. Tech defenders and waltzed into the end zone for his first touchdown catch of the game.

With the connection, Wilson moved to 18/19 passing for 236 yards and two touchdowns. He added five carries for 28 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

Romney’s reception was his sixth catch of the game and gave him 80 yards. Entering the game, the junior receiver averaged 30.2 yards per catch.
