Zach Wilson Throws Excellent Pass To Carter Wheat For BYU Tight End’s First TD

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – BYU quarterback Zach Wilson threw a pass on the money to tight end Carter Wheat that resulted in a touchdown for the Cougars.
The No. 22 ranked Cougars hosted the Bulldogs at LaVell Edwards Stadium on Friday, October 2.
With 10:34 remaining in the first half, Wilson dropped a perfect pass into the endzone and onto the hands of Wheat. The tight end came down with the ball despite being covered by a pair of Bulldog defenders.
The 22-yard touchdown catch was the freshman tight end’s first career touchdown reception.

After the touchdown toss, Wilson was 10/10 for 122 yards and a touchdown. He also accounted for four carries for 13 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
The catch was Wheat’s first of the 2020 season and second of his BYU career.

In 2019, the tight end had one catch for eight yards.
