Gobert Records Pair Of Big Blocks, Massive Dunks During 3Q of Jazz/Celtics Game

BOSTON, Mass. – Jazz center Rudy Gobert produced a pair of big-time blocks and massive dunks during the third quarter of Utah’s game against the Boston Celtics.
Gobert and the Jazz played against the Celtics at TD Garden on Friday, March 6.
The two-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year swatted Celtics forward Jayson Tatum twice during a three and a half minutes scoring drought by Boston.
Gobert’s first block came on a dunk attempt by Tatum with 7:57 left in the quarter. The second swat came on a three-foot shot by Tatum with 5:48 remaining in the third.

24 seconds after rejecting Tatum’s shot, Gobert received a pass from Joe Ingles. Gobert spun off Celtics center Daniel Thiess and rose up to jam the ball through the rim with his right hand.

Gobert’s first dunk gave the Jazz a 71-61 lead with 5:24 left in the third quarter. At the 4:40 mark, Gobert dunked another field goal from two-feet out.
After the slam, Gobert had 5 points on 2-2 field goals. He added 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 blocks during his first 22 minutes on the hardwood.
The Jazz held a 79-66 lead at the end of the third quarter.
