SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Tony Finau is currently ranked as the twelfth best golfer in the world, despite only having just one PGA Tour win. The last two years, however, have been kind to Finau who has finished in the top five in three different Majors, including playing alongside Tiger Woods as the last group in the 2019 Masters, only to finish fifth.
Regardless, just a few weeks ago, at the Waste Management Open in Phoenix, Arizona, Finau looked poised to pick up his second PGA Tour win as the Salt Lake City native had a two-shot lead with just two holes left but unfortunately fell short to Webb Simpson who made a 12-foot birdie on 18 to push it to a playoff.
Finau fans are concerned about him. So much so that a fan, who lives in Parkstone, England, wrote and recorded a song based on Finau’s inability to close out tournaments. Throughout the song, Sam Harrop references Finau’s sudden-death playoff loss to Xander Schauffele at the HSBC Champions in 2018, his runner up finish at the 2019 Charles Schwab Challenge as well as his third-place finish at Royal Portrush during the 2019 Open Championship.
Many of you will know by now that music is my first love (though golf's pretty high to be fair)
So…I decided to pen an ode to Tony Finau, set to the tune of an REO Speedwagon classic. As you do.
First time I've done something like this, so go easy on me 😊

Remarkably, the video gained traction over the internet. So much so that Finau himself replied.
Just watched this 🤙🏾 too good! I feel the love my man. Stay patient and I'll be waiting for the remix after the next win 🔥👊🏾 #teamfinau

Despite the song being solely based on Finau’s inability to win tournaments, Finau responded with the class that we have become accustomed to.
“Just watched this too good! I feel the love my man. Stay patient and I’ll be waiting for the remix after the next win.” Finau responded.
