CHICAGO – NFL legend and former BYU quarterback Jim McMahon opened up the seventh inning of the Cubs game by singing along to ‘Take Me Out To The Ball Game’ with the Chicago crowd.
McMahon, widely considered one of the best quarterbacks in Bears history, is a favorite amongst Chicago sports fans.

McMahon led dominant Bears teams to a lot of success in the 1980s. As the starter, he had a 46-15 record.
McMahon and the Bears won the franchise’s first Super Bowl in 1986.

Unfortunately, the Cubs lost to the Pittsburg Pirates, 13-7.

After playing at BYU, McMahon was selected by the Bears with the fifth overall pick in the 1982 NFL Draft. During his time with Chicago, the QB won a Super Bowl ring. He played for the Bears until 1988.
In 2014, McMahon was inducted into the BYU Athletics Hall of Fame after completing his communications degree.
On October 3, 2014, the university honored the legendary quarterback by retiring his No. 9 jersey during halftime of BYU’s game against Utah State.
