Jazz Aim To Sweep Season Series With Hornets For Eighth Straight Win

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz look to sweep the season series against the Charlotte Hornets on route to their eighth consecutive victory.
The Jazz host the Hornets at Vivint Smart Home Arena on Friday, January 10.
Friday’s matchup is the second time the two squads have met in the 2019-20 season. The Jazz previously defeated the Hornets on December 21. The victory capped a five-game winning streak by the Jazz. Utah carries a seven-game winning streak into the second meeting with Charlotte.

First Meeting
In the first meeting with the Hornets, Jazz starters led an impressive comeback in the second half to pull out a 114-107 win at the Spectrum Center.
The Jazz trailed the Hornets 64-56 at halftime before Utah’s starting lineup took over the game to come backΒ in the third and fourth quarters. Each member of Utah’s starting lineup scored in double figures.
Utah was led in scoring by Bojan Bogdanovic who scored 26 points. Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell posted 20 points.
The Jazz finished the game shooting 52 percent on field goals and 50 percent from behind the arc.
Going For The Sweep
The Jazz host the second meeting of the season with a five-game winning streak at Vivint Smart Home Arena. Overall, Utah is 14-3 at home this season.
Charlotte comes to Salt Lake City after suffering back-to-back losses to the Indiana Pacers and Toronto Raptors. They are 8-12 away from the Queen City this season and have a 15-25 overall record.
The Hornets are led in scoring by guard Devonte’ Graham who is averaging 18.9 points per contest. Graham hands out an average of 7.8 assists a game which is good for No. 6 in the NBA.

Charlotte’s Terry Rozier has led the Hornets in scoring in their last four games. He is just behind Graham’s scoring average with 18.3 points per game.

Former Jazzman and current Hornets forward Marvin Williams is averaging 7.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.0 assists this season. Williams played two seasons with the Jazz.
He appeared in 139 games with Utah including 101 starts during the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons. Williams is in his sixth season with Charlotte.

Utah’s winning ways also align with changes on Donovan Mitchell’s Twitter profile.
