Timmy Allen Named Pac-12 Player Of The Week

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah Utes sophomore forward Timmy Allen was named Pac-12 Player of the Week after his performances against BYU and Central Arkansas.
Last week, Allen averaged 25.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 5 assists for the Utes in their two victories.
It’s the first player of the week honor for Allen in his career and the first Ute to win the award since Justin Bibbins on January 22, 2018.
In Utah’s overtime win over BYU on Wednesday, Allen recorded a career-high 27 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 assists. He scored 14 of his 27 points in the second half to help the Utes overcome a 16-point first half deficit.
On Friday against Central Arkansas, the sophomore dropped 24 points in 26 minutes of action on the floor. Allen also pulled down 8 rebounds, dished out five assists and had two steals.
This season, Allen is averaging 20.8 points, which is good for second in the Pac-12 and 25th in the nation, also he is pulling down 7.4 rebounds per game, which is eighth in the conference.

Utah will begin a stretch of three straight games being played at a neutral site to finish the non-conference schedule. They will face the Weber State Wildcats on Saturday at Vivint Smart Home Arena in the Beehive Classic. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. and will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Network.
