Ridgeline Sneaks Past Pine View In High-Scoring Thriller

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Ridgeline high school needed a touchdown late to get past Pine View 58-56 to open the 2019 high school football season.
Ridgeline had 198 yards rushing to go with five touchdowns from Jovesa Damuni, including the game-winning touchdown. Pine View’s Macloud Crowton threw for 484 yards and seven touchdowns.

Sky View 27 at Stansbury 20
Sky View jumped out to a 13-0 lead, but Stansbury answered with a touchdown pass from Kru Huxford to Taegon Harris. Mason Falslev threw two touchdowns and caught another score for Sky View, including the game-winning touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Beaver 60 at Canyon View 7
The Beavers scored 60 unanswered before Canyon View scored their only touchdown at the start of the fourth quarter.
Crimson Cliffs 14 at Manti 27
It was the debut game for Crimson Cliffs as they started the game with a touchdown as Gunner Orr connected with Ammon Smith on a 42-yard strike. Manti scored four unanswered touchdowns before Smith scored an 80-yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter. Four different players for Manti scored with three rushing touchdowns and one through the air.
East 47 at Snow Canyon 14
The Leopards had five rushing touchdowns, two from Izaak Zimmerman, one receiving and rushing touchdown from Ivseryn Tapusoa, one by Spencer Hola and a score from Dennis Feletoa. Nicolas Session returned a kickoff 91 yards for a touchdown. Snow Canyon’s Ryan Bethers returned an 81-yard kickoff for a touchdown and they scored their final touchdown at the end of the third quarter.
Highland 35 at Desert Hills 29
After a 10-0 start by Desert Hills, Highland scored three straight touchdowns in the second quarter. Each team exchanged two touchdowns in the second half before Desert Hills added one more touchdown before the end of the game to trim the deficit.
Juab 41 at Hurricane 30
Hurricane started with a 78-yard touchdown run by Ian Lambert. Trey Lund and Zac Cowan accounted for three of the next four touchdowns for Juab. Hurricane briefly stopped the bleeding with a score by Conner Nielson. Cowan threw and ran for another touchdown in the second half before Clayton Warr caught two touchdown passes from Brock Starley in the fourth quarter for Hurricane.
Juan Diego 14 at Bear River 27
Juan Diego scored first, but that would be it until late in the third quarter. Bear River found the end zone three times in the first half and their final one in the fourth quarter to put the game away.
Judge Memorial 6 at Ogden 49
Ogden quarterback Jaice Holt connected with Cooper Crabtree on the first two touchdowns. Chase Butler ran in a 35-yard score to help Ogden jump out to a 21-0 lead. Judge Memorial QB Tomas Young found Timothy Tanga to briefly stop the run. Butler scored two of his three touchdowns in the second half before Chris Hernandez scored for the final time for Ogden.
North Summit 28 at Uintah 0
North Summit scored two touchdowns in both the second and third quarters as the pitch the shutout over Uintah.
