SALT LAKE CITY – Former Utah Utes and current NFL quarterback Tyler Huntley started in Week 14 for the Baltimore Ravens before leaving the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers with a concussion.

The Pittsburgh Steelers hosted the Ravens at Acrisure Stadium on Sunday, December 11.

Midway through the third quarter, Huntley left the game and went into the locker room for evaluation.

Late in the game, Baltimore announced that Huntley would not return due to a concussion.

Huntley was 8/12 passing for 88 yards before leaving the contest. He also ran the ball nine times for 31 yards.

The former Ute replaced former Lamar Jackson in the starting lineup.

Jackson, a former NFL MVP, is reportedly currently dealing with a sprained PCL, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The Ravens starting quarterback suffered the injury during the first half of Baltimore’s Week 13 win over the Denver Broncos. Baltimore listed Jackson as “doubtful” to play against Pittsburgh on its injury report earlier in the week.

Ahead of his projected first start of the season, Huntley spoke about the opportunity.

“The more reps, the more confident a person feels,” the former Utah star said. “That plays a lot into it.”

Huntley entered the game having thrown for 187 yards and one interception with an 84.4 percent completion rate this season. He’d also run 10 times for 41 yards and a touchdown.

Baltimore’s game against Pittsburgh is televised on CBS and NFL Sunday Ticket.

Huntley signed with the Ravens after going undrafted following the 2020 NFL Draft.

He’s spent the majority of his time in Baltimore as the backup to Jackson.

During his three seasons with the Ravens, Huntley has thrown for 1,283 yards, three touchdowns, and five interceptions. He’s also run for 358 yards and three touchdowns.
