Mitchell Discusses Injury, Will Play Game 6

SALT LAKE CITY – Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell said he’ll be available for Game 6 against the Dallas Mavericks after leaving Game 5 with a quadriceps injury.
Mitchell left during the fourth quarter of the Jazz’s loss Monday night holding his left hamstring.
The All-Start underwent an MRI that revealed no damage to the hamstring, but he was diagnosed with bi-lateral quadriceps contusions in both legs.

“I’m thankful that it was negative,” Mitchell said of the MRI. “I’ll be ready to go tomorrow.”
The guard explained the origin of the injuries dating back to the team’s Game 4 win over the Mavericks in Salt Lake City.
“Game 4 I got hit here on the right side,” Mitchell said of one set of bruises. “Then you all saw it, when I came down from a rebound and I already had a similar contusion of the left side, but when I came down the other game, that’s when it really started to bug me.”
Mitchell went through practice Wednesday with the Jazz, though the guard said it was a light session for the team overall.

The Jazz guard is the 11th leading scorer in the playoffs at 26 points per game but has struggled shooting just 38 percent from the floor and 19 percent from the three-point line.
Mitchell had one of the worst performances of his career before suffering the injury in Game 5. The guard scored nine points on 4-14 shooting, had two rebounds, one assist, one steal, four turnovers, and was a -38 on the floor.
The Jazz face a must-win scenario in Game 6 to avoid a first-round elimination.
Game 6 between the Mavericks and the Jazz will tip-off at 8 pm MT and will be televised on AT&T Sports, FuboTV, and TNT. The game can be heard on KSL NewsRadio and The Zone Sports Radio Network.
