Red Rocks Come Up Short As Oklahoma Captures National Title

SALT LAKE CITY – The top-ranked Oklahoma Sooners showed why they were ranked No. 1 with a come from behind win to clinch their fifth team gymnastics title in the past eight years.

After leading through two rotations, the Red Rocks couldn’t keep pace with the field finishing in third place with an overall score of 197.0875. Oklahoma won with a score of 198.200 while Florida came in second, just behind the Sooners at 198.0875. Auburn finished in fourth place with an overall score of 197.350.

Gator Trinity Thomas won the all-around scoring competition with a 39.8625. Grace McCallum led the Red Rocks with an all-around score of 29.5625.

First Rotation

The No. 4 Red Rocks began the meet on beam, No. 1 Oklahoma Sooners began on floor, No. 2 Florida opened with the vault and No. 7 Auburn started on bars.
