Buffalo Bills Release Former Utah DT Star Lotulelei

SALT LAKE CITY – The Buffalo Bills announced that they’ve released former Utah Utes defensive tackle Star Lotulelei after three seasons with the franchise.
Lotulelei was released by the Bills on Friday, March 18.
The former Utah standout played for Buffalo from 2018-21.

About Star Lotulelei
Prior to entering the NFL, the South Jordan, Utah native played at the University of Utah from 2010-12.
Following his college career, Lotulelei was selected by the Carolina Panthers with the No. 14 overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.
Lotulelei played the first five seasons of his professional career with the Panthers. He joined the Bills after the 2017 season.
Last season, the defensive lineman had 17 solo tackles, 11 solo tackles, and three sacks in eight regular season games. During two playoff games, Lotulelei added four total tackles, three solo tackles, and one sack.

Lotulelei helped the Bills to an 11-6 record, a Wild Card win in the playoffs, and a spot in the AFC Divisional Round.
During his eight NFL seasons, Lotulelei has recorded 193 total tackles, 115 solo tackles, 16.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, one interception, and seven pass breakups in 120 games.
