PHOENIX, ARIZONA - APRIL 30: Jordan Clarkson #00 of the Utah Jazz moves the ball past Devin Booker #1 of the Phoenix Suns during the second half of the NBA game at Phoenix Suns Arena on April 30, 2021 in Phoenix, Arizona.

SALT LAKE CITYΒ – Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson set a personal career-high in scoring 45 points in a Jazz 134-125 win over the Sacramento Kings.

The 45 points also represents Utah Jazz single-game record for a non-starter, passing the 41 scored by Thurl Bailey.

Sacramento faced the Utah Jazz at Vivint Arena on Saturday, March 12.

Entering the game with seven minutes left in the first quarter, Clarkson immediately went inferno, hitting four three’s on his way to 14 first quarter points.

The hot shooting continued in the second as Clarkson continued to help the shorthanded Jazz fight back against the Kings. Hitting four shots in the quarter and another pair of three’s Clarkson finished with 24 first half points. Clarkson ended the half with six three’s made.

The halftime break slowed Clarkson down momentarily as he scored just six points in the third.

With the game still close early in the fourth, Clarkson went on another run by scoring seven points in the opening 2:13 of the quarter. Opening the quarter with a technical free throw, Clarkson would hit his seventh three of the night before getting fouled by De’Aaron Fox on another three, leading the a trio of free throws.

To cap off the career night, with the Jazz leading by nine and 1:55 remaining, Clarkson rose up and knocked down his seventh three of the night and sealing the much needed win for a Jazz team playing without all-stars Mike Conley and Rudy Gobert as well as backup guard Trent Forrest.

De’Aaron Fox of the Kings added 41 points.

Clarkson previous career high of 42 was scored in a 148–139 triple-overtime loss for the Cleveland Cavaliers. His previous scoring high with the Jazz was 40 points scored in a 134-123 win over the 76ers in February of 2021.

The Jazz will welcome the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks into Vivint Arena on Monday, March 14. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. (MST).
