SALE LAKE CITY – Former Real Salt Lake winger Sebastián Saucedo has confirmed to KSL Sports that he is currently negotiating a potential return to the club that will likely occur in June.
Saucedo, 25, has spent the previous two seasons with Liga MX club UNAM where he has appeared in 48 games scoring 3 goals.
“I would love to come home, I know I could’ve given more to Real Salt Lake,” Saucedo said in a recent episode of The RSL Show. “My time playing in Mexico has shown me the value of working both on and off the field.”

At the end of 2019, it was announced by Real Salt Lake that Saucedo was departing the club following consecutive seasons of consistent playing time without consistent starts.
Saucedo was reportedly frustrated that he was not a dependable figure on the roster and was eager to test himself in a new environment.
Now, following two years away from his beloved home club, he has decided that he would like to give back. A return for Saucedo is hopeful, with talks ongoing with Real Salt Lake.
Saucedo grew up playing for Real Salt Lake in the RSL Academy in Arizona. In 2014, he was announced as the eighth homegrown signing in club history, and in 2015 he made his professional debut for the Real Monarchs. Between 2015 and 2019, Saucedo saw 83 appearances for Real Salt Lake and notched 5 goals and 11 assists.
His bold, daring, and confident playing style would be a welcomed sight for the Real Salt Lake faithful who have missed watching Saucedo dance his way around defenders before unleashing a vicious strike from distance.
