PROVO, Utah – The wedding for BYU football tight end Isaac Rex to former UVU volleyball player Lexi Davies has been postponed due to Rex’s injury in last week’s win at USC.
During the second quarter of BYU’s 35-31 win over the Trojans, he suffered a right ankle injury that caused him to be carted off the field.

Isaac’s father, Byron Rex, a former All-American tight end at BYU in the 90s, was by Isaac’s side on the cart.
The injury is a season-ending setback for the third-year player out of San Clemente, California.
What’s even more unfortunate for Rex is that the injury takes away his wedding day planned for Saturday, December 4th to Davies, a native of Murray. The couple got engaged in August.
Davies shared a post on her personal Instagram page announcing the postponement to the wedding.

“Our sealing and wedding reception will be postponed until the Spring. I’ll make sure to let everyone know when we finalize a date,” wrote Davies.
She added, “Sadly Isaac got injured in his game against USC last Saturday night and due to circumstances of his injury, we will be in California with his family until his surgery for the next couple of weeks. God has a plan for everyone and a purpose for every bump in the road we face in our lives. Everything always happens for a greater purpose and to make us stronger than ever before. Thank you everyone for all of your sweet messages and for all of the love and support for Isaac and his recovery! He is a fighter and so strong, he will be back from this in no time! We can’t wait to celebrate with everyone in a couple of months!!”
Rex finished the 2021 season with 18 catches for 191 yards and three touchdowns in nine games played during his third year with the BYU football program.
Here’s to Rex healing quickly so the couple can celebrate their special wedding day together sooner rather than later.
