Slovakia is unable to qualify for the upcoming 2022 World Cup in Qatar given their current standings. Slovakia finds themselves nine points behind group leaders Russia and seven points shy of second-place Croatia but with just two games remaining the maximum number of points remaining for Slovakia is six points.
During the last bout of qualifying fixtures, Rusnák appeared off the bench in Slovakia’s 1-0 loss to Russia and did not make an appearance in the 2-2 draw against Croatia.
Most notably, Rusnák was not included in last summer’s European Championship squad despite playing a pivotal role in helping Slovakia qualify for the tournament.
Rusnák will be back in Utah ahead of the first-round MLS playoff clash against the Seattle Sounders on November 23rd. The kickoff for the Seattle game is slated for 8:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on FS1.
