Utah Jazz Score Franchise Record In Blowout Of Sacramento Kings

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz scored a franchise record in points in a blowout victory over the Sacramento Kings.

The Kings hosted the Jazz at Golden 1 Center on Wednesday, April 28.

Utah blasted Sacramento, 154-105.

The previous Utah record for points in a contest was 151 points.

As the New Orleans Jazz, the team had a record of 153 points.

How It Happened

After a back-and-forth opening 12 minutes of action, the Jazz held a three-point lead over the Kings heading into the second quarter.

During the first five-plus minutes of the second quarter, Utah blitzed Sacramento.

The Jazz the Kings with a 23-2 run, a run that the home team was unable to recover from.

Utah dropped 46 points in the quarter and went into locker room at halftime up 32 points on the scoreboard.

In the second half, Jazz head coach Quin Snyder had the luxury to play deep into his bench as Utah continued its roll.

The Jazz won all four quarters of the contest and cruised to the 49-point win.

The Jazz ended the game with eight players having scored in double figures.

Bojan Bogdanovic got things going for the Jazz to start the game.

He scored 12 points in the first quarter and finished with a game-high 24 points.

Jordan Clarkson poured in 23 points off the bench.

The other Jazzmen to score 10 or more points were Royce O’Neale, Georges Niang, Rudy Gobert, Joe Ingles, Jarrell Brantley, and Matt Thomas.

Utah finished shooting 64.0 percent overall and 24-41 for 58.5 percent from beyond the arc.

The Jazz blew out the Kings without the talents of Mike Conley and Donovan Mitchell, who both missed the game due to injury.

Sacramento Kings

The Jazz held the Kings to 48.3 percent shooting from the field, including 33.3 percent on threes.

Sacramento was led by Richaun Holmes and Buddy Hield, who each scored 18 points.

Up Next

With the win, the Jazz improved their NBA-best record to 45-17 this season, including 19-13 on the road.

Utah’s next game is against the Phoenix Suns on Friday, April 30 at 8 p.m. (MDT). The game will broadcast on AT&T SportsNet and 97.5 FM.
