SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah wide receiver Britain Covey was mic’d up during the Utes’ spring football game on Saturday and he was entertaining.

The Pac-12 Network decided to get Britain Covey mic’d up as the red team faced the white team in the Utah spring football game. Throughout the broadcast, the Network kept playing back clips of things he said before and during the game. You could tell that Covey was having a blast on Saturday.

“This is fun because it’s like a game but I am not nervous,” Covey said during warmups.

“Holy cow, compared to last year, this feels packed.” Covey added when talking about the 6,500 fans inside Rice-Eccles Stadium. “I bet people in the crowd are so happy. Just to be at an event.”

One of the more funny moments with Covey on the mic was when one of the officials approached him before the game.

Official: Are you ever going to go?

Covey: I think I am going to drag it out as long as I can. Trying to apply for social security by the time I leave.

The super junior had a conversation with Baylor transfer quarterback Charlie Brewer.

“Have you ever thrown a real pass in a game in college? You nervous? I am like four for four in my career in college,” Covey said.

Other moments that were played on the broadcast from Covey that didn’t make it to the social media clip included when he was back to return a punt, he shouted “I am taking it to the house.”

Another time was when he was on the bench with other receivers and they were talking about the famous musical Les Misérables and he and Dylan Slavens started singing one of the songs.

He started talking smack to the black team when he caught a punt.

“You guys are so lucky,” Covey joked. “So lucky, my goodness.”

In the first half of the spring game, Devaughn Vele made an impressive catch. After the play, Covey ran down the field with excitement.

“Oh my gosh, that’s what I am talking about. Making a play!” Covey shouted.

Some great leadership was shown on another clip with Covey mic’d up on a conversation with Charlie Brewer during the game.

“We have to prove as a group what we can do and we are doing that so keep it up,” Covey mentioned. “Starter or backup, I don’t care, just prove it.”
