Andrew Brody Showcases Dribbling Ability, Inspires Two Goal Lead At Halftime During Practice Match Against Rapids

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Real Salt Lake scored the opening goal of the first practice match in Tucson, Arizona against Colorado Rapids after Anderson Julio found the back of the net in the 14th minute.

Julio will be credited for the goal, which is his second goal in the preseason to date, but recently signed right-back Andrew Brody did all of the dirty work. Brody went on a magnificent run dancing around multiple Rapids defenders before ultimately being tackled in the box just as he was about to shoot.

Fortunately, Julio was in a position to poach on the work done by Brody and slot the ball into the back of the net.

Brody and Julio were formidable throughout the first half, dominating the right side of the pitch with their skill and speed. Julio, in particular, adds electric speed to the attacking half of RSL and Colorado struggled to contain him.

Brody was again involved in the second goal of the half for RSL after he evaded pressure and turned multiple Rapid defenders inside out before being taken down in the area.

Damir Kreilach slotted the second goal home with just seconds left in the half.

The preseason fixture against Colorado is the first of three practice matches. RSL will play USL club Phoenix Rising on April 7th before concluding their 10-day stint in Tucson with a fixture against the LA Galaxy on April 10th.
