Quick Turn Around Means Limited Adjustments For Jazz And Memphis

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz and Memphis Grizzlies concluded their game last at 9:21 pm MT. Tonight, they’ll tip-off their second game in back-to-back nights just under 22 hours later, giving the two teams little time to make adjustments.
While Jazz players could return to their homes for a night’s rest after the 117-114 victory, the team’s coaches were busy examining the game film in preparation for the rematch.
“We try to watch the film every night after the game while it’s fresh,” Jazz coach Quin Snyder said. “If you don’t get to it, you get to it early in the morning.”

While the Jazz coaches were able to create a short edit of last night’s game that was sent out to their players, Memphis was able to use the team’s hotel to host a group viewing session.
One advantage, despite the quick turnaround, is facing a familiar opponent.
“It’s always great when you get to play the same team on backs back nights, whether you’re coming off a loss or coming off a win,” Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins said. “Kind of get to dive into somewhat of a playoff prep, and you know the tweaks you’ve got to make and we try to keep it simple for our guys.”

Snyder echoed Jenkins, his former assistant coach while overseeing the Austin Toros, as the Jazz prepared for Memphis.
“Playing the same opponent, there’ll be some things that you want to assess and see if you just need to do better,” Snyder said, ” Or if you can make a couple of changes that will give your team a chance to be more successful.”
The Jazz and Grizzlies tip-off tonight at 7 pm MT. The game will be broadcast on AT&T SportsNet.
