Sam Merrill Has Career Night For Bucks In Loss To Celtics

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former Utah State star Sam Merrill had a career night as a rookie for the Milwaukee Bucks in their loss to the Boston Celtics.
On Friday night in Milwaukee, Sam Merrill dropped a career-high 15 points in 20 minutes of action in the Bucks’ 122-114 loss to the Celtics. Merrill shot 6-of-8 from the field and 3-for-5 from the three-point line, while also getting two rebounds and a steal.
It’s the first time that Merrill has scored in double figures and played more than 10 minutes in a game.

Merrill played nine minutes in their win over the Celtics on Wednesday night. He scored three points, hitting one of his three attempts from beyond the arc. In his rookie season, Merrill has appeared in 17 games, while averaging 1.9 points in 5.7 minutes per game.
The former Utah State star was taken in the second round by the Milwaukee Bucks with the 60th pick in the draft.
