Jazz Start Second Quarter With Big 12-2 Run Against Warriors

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – After trailing by as many as 13, the Utah Jazz needed a big run against the Golden State Warriors on Sunday afternoon in the bay area.

The Jazz trailed 24-11 to the Warriors with under four minutes left in the first quarter before the run. It was looking like Utah was going to get run out of the building with turnovers and missing shots. On top of that, Stephen Curry hit three triples in the first quarter to finish with 14 points.
When Curry went to the bench to start the second quarter, the Jazz jumped out to a 12-2 run.

The Jazz were down 33-22 at the end of the opening quarter. Mike Conley started the run with a layup. Then Jordan Clarkson knocked down his first three-pointer of the game to cut the deficit to six. Conley made two free throws to get the Jazz on a 7-0 run to start the second. Nico Mannion scored Golden State’s only points during that run to put them up 35-29.
Seconds later, Clarkson nailed a floating jumper in the lane. Then Rudy Gobert threw down a dunk while getting fouled. After hitting the free throw, Utah trailed by one point.
Their game in San Francisco starts a five-game road trip. The Jazz will head to the east coast for three straight before ending the trip in Chicago.
