Real Monarchs Hires Final Assistant Coach Ahead Of 2021 Campaign

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Real Monarchs have added Joel Delass to the coaching staff ahead of the 2021 season.
Delass, 34, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Jamison Olave’s staff joining Elite Talent Director and Assistant Coach Cody Worden and Goalkeeper Coach Mirza Harambasic to round out the technical staff.
“Joel is a great addition for the Monarchs staff because he already has the experience as a player and as a coach with Union Omaha, where they did really well last year,” Olave said. “He’s going to bring a lot of quality and experience into the staff and the club.”

Delass joins Real after a year in USL League One with Union Omaha where he acted as an assistant coach. Prior to Omaha, he was an assistant coach with the former Lansing Ignite in the same league. His only head coaching job was at the collegiate level when he led Northwest Nazarene University for three seasons.
As a player, Delass excelled enduring a seven-year professional playing career. After graduating from Wheaton College College where he was named the Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Player of the Year as a junior, he played professionally with the Dayton Dutch Lions in the the USL Pro and Charlotte Eagles in USL Second Division.
“I’m really excited to be here because it’s obviously a very successful organization in the USL Championship,” DeLass said. “They’ve done a good job developing players through the USL Championship and into the first team. I’m really looking forward to being a part of the organization and very thankful for the opportunity.”
