Real Monarchs Signs Colombian Striker Juan Vidal

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Real Monarchs have signed Colombian international Juan Vidal ahead of the 2021 season, the club announced today.
Vidal, 20, joins the Monarchs following a stint with CF Barranquilla of the Colombian Categoria Premera B. At the international level, Vidal represented the Colombian U-17 team during the 2017 FIFA World Cup where he helped his country advance to the Round of 16. During the group stage of the tournament, Vidal headed home the opening goal against the United States to guide the Colombians to a 3-1 victory.

“We are excited to welcome a young and creative attacking player like Juan to our Club,” Real Salt Lake Assistant General Manager Tony Beltran said. “His addition to the Monarchs roster provides an opportunity for his continued development under the tutelage of our Monarchs staff. We look forward to seeing Juan play and progress as a professional in 2021.”
Vidal joins Brayan Gomez as the second Colombian international to be signed by Real Monarchs this offseason.
