LOGAN, Utah – The Utah State Aggies snapped their two game losing streak with a 75-72 win over Nevada with Justin Bean leading the way for the home team.

Justin Bean notched a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds for Utah State in their win over Nevada. Neemias Queta was all over the glass, also recording a double-double with 16 points, 17 boards and 3 blocks. Alphonso Anderson and Brock Miller each added 10 points.

Desmond Cambridge led Nevada with 23 points. Grant Sherfield chipped in 11 points and 6 assists.

The game was delayed for about 20 minutes due to clock issues but after the situation was corrected, the Aggies came out firing. They scored 41 points in the first half and held Nevada to just 25 points. Utah State shot 48 percent (15-31) from the field, 43 percent (6-14) from the three-point line and made five of their seven free throw attempts.

Nevada didn’t shoot the ball well in the first 20 minutes, hitting 34 percent (9-26) from the floor. They did hit 4-of-8 from beyond the arc. The Wolf Pack came out more motivated in the second half to start but Utah State countered every run that Nevada tried to make.

Heading down the stretch in the second half, Utah State held a 9-point lead with just under six minutes remaining in the game. Nevada kept chipping at the Utah State lead and found themselves down by four points with one minute left. Robby Robinson put them within two points with a layup with 31 seconds left. On the inbound pass, Marco Anthony was trapped in the corner and was forced to call another timeout.

Utah State put the Wolf Pack away by hitting free throws.

The Aggies improved their record to 15-7 overall and 12-4 in Mountain West Conference play. They will have a rematch with Nevada on Sunday, February 28 at 5 p.m. MST on FS1.
