Dixie State Suffers Second Consecutive Loss To Grand Canyon

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Dixie State men’s basketball team suffered its sixth consecutive loss by dropping a second game in a row to the Grand Canyon Antelopes.
The Trailblazers hosted the Antelopes on Saturday, January 23.
One day earlier, Grand Canyon defeated Dixie State, 77-74.
Unfortunately for the Trailblazers, Saturday’s rematch went much worse.
Grand Canyon blasted Dixie State, 81-46.

The Trailblazers had only one player score in double figures in the loss.
Dixie State finished the contest shooting 35.6 percent overall and only 16.7 percent from beyond the arc.
Cameron Gooden led the Trailblazers with 14 points.

Grand Canyon had four players score 10 points or more.
The Antelopes were led in scoring by Asbjorn Midtgaard’s 16 points.

GCU ended the game shooting 49.1 percent from the field, including 31.8 percent from three.
With the loss, the Trailblazers fell to 4-7 on the season.

Dixie State’s next game is against California Baptist on Friday, January 29 at 7 p.m. (MDT).
