No. 6 Utah Gymnastics Begins Pac-12 Play With Dominating Win Over Arizona

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Gymnastics team rebounded from their loss to No. 2 Oklahoma last week and picked up a dominating 197.075-195.650 win over Arizona.
In their win over Arizona, Utah Gymnastics scored their highest total of the season. They didn’t have an all-around winner in this meet.

Cammy Hall and Alexia Burch each recorded 9.90 scores on the vault, followed by Jaedyn Rucker’s 9.875 and Lucy Stanhope’s 9.825 score. The Red Rocks beat the Wildcats on vault, 49.275-48.775.

On bars, it was all Utah as well, with Maile O’Keefe recording a 9.90 score along with Alani Sabado’s 9.875 and both Alexia Burch and Cristal Isa posting 9.850 scores. Utah won that event as well, 49.275-48.950.

When the beam was finished, the Red Rocks picked up a 49.200-49.150 win after O’Keefe recorded a 9.90 score, Cristal Isa posted a score of 9.875, Alexia Burch and Adrienne Randall each had a score of 9.850.

On the floor, Utah dominated Arizona with a score of 49.325-48.775. Sydney Soloski was outstanding with a 9.925 score, followed by a 9.875 from Jaedyn Rucker and a pair of 9.850 scores from Jaylene Gilstrap and Abby Paulson.

The Red Rocks improved to 4-1 overall and 1-0 in Pac-12 play. They will finish their two-meet home stand on Saturday, January 30 when they face Washington at the Jon M. Huntsman Center. The meet will begin at 8 p.m. MST and will be televised on ESPNU.
