Utah Jazz Overcome Double-Digit Deficit To Take Halftime Lead Over Pelicans

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz overcame a double-digit deficit in the first half to take a halftime lead over the New Orleans Pelicans.
Utah hosted New Orleans at Vivint Arena on Thursday, January 21.
After the Jazz held a 19-17 advantage in the first quarter, the Pelicans went on a scoring run before Utah responded from a 16-point deficit.
The Jazz finished the first half on an 8-0 run.

Following the first 12 minutes of action, New Orleans held a 43-31 lead.
Although the Jazz trailed the Pelicans for the majority of the second quarter, Utah managed to regain the lead when Mike Conley made a layup with 31.7 seconds left in the first half.
Conley’s bucket gave Utah a 70-68 lead at halftime.

In the first half, the Jazz shot 52.3 percent overall and 42.9 percent from distance.
Utah was led by Donovan Mitchell’s 21 points.
New Orleans shot 52.1 percent from the field, including 53.3 percent from three during the first 24 minutes of action.
The Pelicans were led by Brandon Ingram’s 20 points.
