Jazz Yellow Jerseys Return, Will The Curse?

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz will don their yellow statement jerseys for the first time tonight when they face the New Orleans Pelicans.
The Jazz are returning home for the first game in a six-game homestand, riding a wave of momentum from their five-game winning streak.
Will the yellow jerseys disrupt the Jazz string of success?

Jazz Yellow Jersey Curse
The yellow statement jerseys were just one of five jerseys in the Jazz uniform rotation last season, but fans and the team’s player began to notice a bizarre trend when the jerseys were worn — the Jazz weren’t very good.
Last season, the Jazz went 40-16 in games when they any of their icon, association, classic, or city jerseys, for a winning percentage of .714.
When they wore the yellow statement jerseys, they were a lowly 1-7 with a .125 winning percentage. The team played so poorly in the jerseys, they took them out of the uniform rotation before traveling to Orlando to finish the season inside the NBA bubble.
Head coach Quin Snyder jokingly admitted that the team was aware of the yellow uniform curse.

“Our yellow uniforms?” Snyder said after a disappointing Jazz midseason loss. “Yeah, we’re not wearing them anymore.”
The Jazz have had three uniforms in their rotation so far this season, including their icon, association, and new city jersey. The team will unveil the statement jersey against the Pelicans, and will have an additional green earned debut later this season.
Fans will see a slight variation on this year’s yellow jerseys. Michael Jordan’s ‘Jumpman‘ logo will rest on the shoulder of the jersey as the Jordan brand is the official sponsor of the NBA’s statement jerseys this season.
The Jazz and Pelicans tip-off at 7 pm MST, the game will be broadcast on AT&T SportsNet.
