SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz waived guard Yogi Ferrell and forward Malcolm Miller prior to the team’s regular season-opener.

The Jazz announced the transaction on Saturday, December 19.

Ferrell and Miller were first signed by the Jazz on December 18.

Utah opens the regular season on Wednesday, December 23.

About Yogi Ferrell

The 6-foot, 178 lbs. point guard has spent time with the Brooklyn Nets, Dallas Mavericks, and Sacramento Kings since entering the NBA in the 2016-17 season.

Prior to his time in the NBA, Ferrell starred at Indiana University.

After going undrafted in the 2016 NBA Draft, he signed a deal with the Nets.

Brooklyn waived Ferrell in December 2016.

Following his time with the Nets, Ferrell joined Dallas on a 10-day contract and found success.

The following year during the 2017-18 season, he played in all 82 of Dallas’ games, including 21 starts.

Last season, Ferrell finished the second year of a two-year, $3 million deal with the Kings.

Ferrell owns career averages of 7.8 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 249 games. He’s started 53 games in his NBA career.

About Malcolm Miller

Miller is entering his fourth season in the NBA.

The 6’7 wing has appeared in 53 career games with the Toronto Raptors.

The former Raptor has career averages of 2.0 points. 0.7 rebounds, and 0.3 rebounds.

Despite limited playing time, Miller has posted strong efficiency numbers shooting 43 percent from the floor and 40 percent from the three-point line.
