PROVO, Utah – BYU basketball is back in black.
A week ago, like the football team, BYU basketball unveiled black uniforms before its crosstown clash against the Utah Valley Wolverines.

Like the football team, the black uniforms BYU hoops donned on Saturday were last worn in 2016. The hoops uniforms were dusted off from storage to make their first appearance on the Marriott Center floor.
The previous two times BYU wore black uniforms was in games at NBA venues against USC (Staples Center) and Illinois (United Center) in 2016. Before 2016, BYU previously wore black uniforms in the 1997-98 season when Steve Cleveland was the head coach.
The Cougars will look to get their first victory in these black uniforms as they were 0-2 the previous times they donned the all-black. With black back in BYU’s uniform rotation, the Cougars have four jerseys in its rotation; home whites, navy blue, royal blue, and now all-black.

The Cougar football team will wear their black uniforms when they take the field on Dec. 12 against San Diego State at LaVell Edwards Stadium. Last week, injured BYU tight end Matt Bushman showed off the black football uniforms to his teammates, getting everyone in the Cougar locker room hyped to see the alternate threads.
