Utah State Closes Out Northern Iowa With Big Run For First Win Of Season

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah State men’s basketball team closed out the Northern Iowa Panthers following a big run in the second half for the Aggies’ first win of the 2020-21 season.

The Aggies and Panthers played one another in the Bad Boy Mowers Crossover Classic in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on Friday, November 27.
After trailing 51-45 with 15:43 left in the game, USU’s offense kicked into gear and the Aggies’ defense locked down the Panthers.
Over the next 12:40 of game time, the Aggies went on a 28-10 run to take control of the contest.
Utah State would close out the game for an 82-71 win over UNI.

The Aggies had four starters score in double figures in the double-digit victory.
Utah State guard Marco Anthony scored a team-high and career-high 22 points on 8-16 shooting.
The Aggie frontcourt of Neemias Queta and Justin Bean each posted double-doubles with 15 points apiece.

The Aggies outshot the Panthers 46.4 percent compared to 36.2 percent.
With the win, USU improved to 1-2 on the season.
Utah State’s next game is against the BYU Cougars on December 5. Tip-off between the Aggies and Cougars has yet to be announced.
