Utah State Basketball Suffers Setback Against South Dakota State

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah State men’s basketball team experience their second straight loss to open the season after falling to the South Dakota State Jackrabbits.
The Aggies and Jackrabbits played one another in the Bad Boy Mowers Crossover Classic in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on Thursday, November 26.
After suffering a season-opening defeat to the VCU Rams a night earlier, Utah State dropped its second consecutive game in an 83-59 performance against SDSU.

USU opened the game with a 15-point deficit in the first half. In the second half, the Aggies picked it up but continued to get outscored over the final 20 minutes and were unable to make up the margin.

Only two Aggie players scored in double figures in the 24-point loss.
USU center Neemias Queta led the team with 12 points on 6-8 shooting. Marco Anthony added 10 points.
The Aggies shot 36.8 percent from the field and 31.8 percent from three.

South Dakota State was on fire and shot 56.1 percent overall, including 55.6 percent from distance.
Baylor Scheierman led all scorers with 26 points.
Utah State’s next game is against Northern Iowa on Friday, November 27 at 2 p.m. (MDT). The Panthers (0-2) are also looking for their first win of the season. The game will broadcast on ESPNU.
