Kyle Van Noy Gets Sack, Fumble Recovery On Thursday Night Football

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Former BYU linebacker Kyle Van Noy made a big play in the third quarter for the Miami Dolphins on Thursday Night Football.

With just over four minutes remaining in the third quarter, Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Gardner Minshew dropped back to pass when he went into the pocket and had the ball punched out while getting sacked by Van Noy.

The ball rolled out and Van Noy was able to reach for the ball.

It gave the Dolphins prime field position as they took over on offense already in the red zone and had a 21-7 lead over the Jaguars.

Through three quarters, Van Noy had 3 tackles, one sack, two quarterback hits, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. He also had a great hit on Jaguars running back Chris Thompson as he was attempting to block Van Noy.

Miami scored after getting the ball back from Van Noy’s forced turnover. Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick ran it up the middle for a one-yard touchdown to put the Dolphins up 28-7. Van Noy is in his first season with the Dolphins after joining the franchise in the off-season as a free agent.

His Dolphins teammate, former Ute Eric Rowe had 4 tackles.
