SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The No. 9 Roy Royals picked up an upset road win after completing a comeback to beat No. 6 Davis, 48-47.

Roy was trailing by two scores late when Kingston found Tytan Fernandes and scored another touchdown when Kingston connected with Ethan Ecker in the final seconds.

Rather than tying the game, Roy decided to go for the two point conversion and Cade Harris ran it in to take the lead. After a couple of penalties on Roy put Davis in field goal range but the attempt was missed.

Roy was led by Parker Kingston with three rushing touchdowns and one passing TD to Tytan Fernandes. Cade Harris and Izzy Gordon each added a rushing score. For Davis, Chance Trujillo threw four touchdowns, two to David Spjut and Owen Murdock. The QB also ran in two touchdowns along with one from Spencer Ferguson.

Here is all of the results in the 6A classification from the sixth week of the high school football season.

Region 1

Clearfield 29 at Northridge 17

Kai Wirth scored three touchdowns for Clearfield along with a passing touchdown from Shaydn Stoker to Brad Howell. Northridge had a long TD run by Bryce Hughes and a deep touchdown pass from Fabian Williams to Brooks Ashton. It’s the first win of the season for the Falcons.

Syracuse 24 at Fremont 35

Fremont jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first half before the Titans scored for the first time as the Silver Wolves took a 21-7 lead to the halftime break. Syracuse started the second half with a field goal before Fremont scored two unanswered TD’s. Syracuse scored the last two touchdowns of the game. For Fremont, Cannon Kofford threw four touchdowns, finding Hayden Hall three times and Jacob Palmer once. Kofford also ran in a score. Syracuse picked up two passing touchdowns from Trevor Drake to Chandler Christensen and Daxton Faddis. Christensen also ran in a touchdown.

No. 18 Weber 15 at Layton 34

After jumping into the top 20, Weber suffered a huge upset to Layton. The Lancers picked up their first win of the season. Layton started the game with 24 unanswered points in the first half. Weber scored all 15 points in the second half while the Lancers scored 10 more points. Garrett Gifford threw a touchdown to Carter Mayfield. Sione Vailahi ran in two TD’s, while Rocky Wall added a pick-six. Weber had a 90-yard kick return for a touchdown from Cannon DeVries.

Region 2

Hunter 17 at West 14

Hunter scored 14 straight points to start the game before West jumped onto the scoreboard. The Wolverines took a 10-point lead before the Panthers had a scoop and score late in the fourth but couldn’t complete the comeback. Josh Harding threw both TD passes for Hunter, finding Nathan Suaste and Xandre Hill. West had a passing touchdown from Carson Lopati to Clarence Bird Butler while Daniel Aneo had the scoop and score.

Taylorsville 3 at Granger 47

It was all Granger as they scored all 47 points in the first three quarters. Taylorsville scored their three points in the fourth quarter. Desmond Fue ran in three touchdowns, while Tevita Finau and Tyson Torres each added a TD on the ground.

West Jordan 0 at No. 8 Kearns 38

All of Kearns’ points came in the first three quarters as they pitched a shutout in region play. Naki Leha had three rushing touchdowns, while Iosefa Toia’ivao threw two touchdowns to Jack Kelly and Keishaun Dudley.

Region 3

East 39 at Copper Hills 0

It was a much needed win for East after suffering three straight losses entering this week. Amini Amone ran in two touchdowns along with one each from Luliano Sula and Mapa Vaenuku. Izaak Zimmerman threw a touchdown pass to Tulone Tausinga.

Herriman 10 at No. 11 Bingham 44

The Miners scored 23 unanswered points to start the game. The Mustangs scored their 10 points consecutively before Bingham scored three more TD’s. The Miners had a passing and rushing TD from Troy Mehn, who found Isaiah Glasker. Saia Lomu ran in two scores and Carter Shulsen added one TD on the ground. Hunter Rains returned an interception into the end zone. Herriman had a field goal and a touchdown pass from Jack White to Ean Payne.

Jordan 6 at Riverton 56

Riverton scored 35 straight points before Jordan scored their only touchdown. Jaxon Howard threw three TD’s to Andrew Mangum, Jaxon Bennett and Josh Jacobsen. Howard also ran in two touchdowns, while Brayden Hunkin, Chad Hunington and Sau Tafisi each scored a rushing TD.

Region 4

No. 4 Lone Peak 33 at Westlake 7

The Knights scored all 33 points before the Thunder found the end zone. Kaden Franck started the game with a punt return for a touchdown. Luke Romney threw three touchdown passes along with a passing TD from Jonah Heimuli, connecting with Weston Covey three times and John Henry Daley once. Westlake got a touchdown from Zach Childs to James Maxwell.

No. 5 Pleasant Grove 7 at No. 1 Corner Canyon 38

Corner Canyon scored first before Pleasant Grove tied the game but that’s as close as the game would be. The Chargers rattled off 31 straight points. Sam Leavitt threw a touchdown pass to Darrius Clemons for the Vikings’ only score. Jaxson Dart threw four touchdown passes, three to Noah Kjar and one to Cody Hagen.
