LEHI, Utah – The third ranked Skyridge Falcons had a dominant performance through four quarters as they took down No. 2 American Fork 41-9 in Region 4 play.

The Falcons were led by quarterback McCae Hillstead, who accounted for two touchdowns, one passing and one rushing. He connected with Mitch Adamson in the first quarter. Jeter Fenton ran in three rushing touchdowns. Ston Mulitalo had a pick-six.

For the Cavemen, Maddux Madsen threw one touchdown pass to Sam Hafen for the only touchdown of the game.

All Skyridge In First Half

After forcing American Fork to punt on their first possession, Skyridge trucked down the field and finished the drive with a short touchdown run by Jeter Fenton to give the Falcons a 7-0 lead with 10:50 remaining in the first quarter. Skyridge got the ball back after another stop and they capitalized with a long touchdown pass from McCae Hillstead to Mitch Adamson to give them a 14-0 lead with under 9 minutes left in the opening quarter.

The Cavemen were working their way down the field to try and get in the end zone for the first time but turned it over on downs on the Skyridge 34-yard line. American Fork was able to get into the red zone but couldn’t punch it in and had to settle for a field goal. They trailed 14-3 with over 10 minutes remaining in the first half.

The Falcons picked up a big score as defensive lineman Stone Mulitalo picked off Maddux Madsen and returned it for a touchdown to put Skyridge up 20-3 with 7 minutes left in the first half. Four minutes later, the Falcons found the end zone against as Fenton scored his second TD of the night to give Skyridge a 27-3 lead with 2:58 remaining in the half.

It took some time but the Cavemen were clicking on offense as Madsen found Sam Hafen for the first touchdown of the night to trim the deficit to 27-9 with 1:20 until the halftime break.

Skyridge Impressive In Second Half

After getting back into the red zone midway through the third quarter, AF missed a field goal attempt. It was a scoreless quarter for both teams in the third. Early in the fourth quarter, Skyridge added to their side of the scoreboard with a touchdown from Hillstead.

Right after their touchdown, Skyridge attempted the onside kick and recovered it. On the next play, Fenton ran in a 30-yard touchdown, giving the home team a 41-9 lead with 9:09 left in the game.

American Fork dropped their record to 5-1 on the season. They will host Westlake next Friday at 7 p.m.

Skyridge moved to 6-0 on the year. The Falcons will travel to No. 5 Pleasant Grove next Friday at 7 p.m.
