LOGAN, Utah – The No. 11 Sky View Bobcats took down their cross-town rival Green Canyon, 42-14 on the Game Night Live Game of the Week.

Sky View quarterback Kasen Carlsen threw three touchdown passes to three different targets. The defense stepped up as well, getting two scores on that side of the ball. Walter Collins ran back a pick six 71 yards in the first half while Isaac Larsen took his interception 92-yards to the house in the fourth quarter.

For Green Canyon, Jake Lundin had two touchdowns, one passing and one rushing. Jaxson Curtis caught Lundin’s only touchdown throw.

The Bobcats won their 17th straight game dating back to last season.

Productive First Half Offensively

It wasn’t a great start for Green Canyon as Sky View threw a touchdown on the first play of the game that was an 80-yard connection between Kasen Carlsen and Isaac Larsen to put the Bobcats up 7-0 with 11:49 remaining in the first quarter.

The Wolves couldn’t respond as they turned the ball over on downs at mid-field. Sky View added a quick touchdown following the turnover on downs as Carlsen found Sam Thatcher for a touchdown to give the Bobcats a 14-0 lead with 7:06 left in the opening quarter.

Just as the first quarter clock expired, Carlsen fumbled the ball and Green Canyon recovered it. As Jake Lundin was heading towards the sideline, he threw the ball right to Walter Collins, who returned the interception 71-yards for a touchdown to put the Bobcats up 21-0 with under 10 minutes remaining in the first half.

On fourth and goal and the one yard line, Green Canyon found the end zone for the first time as Lundin ran in the score to trim the deficit to 21-7 with 4:16 left in the first half.

Sky View Puts Game Away In Second Half

Midway through the third quarter, Carlsen found his third different target for a touchdown, connecting with Titan Saxton from 19-yards out to put Sky View up 28-7 with 6:19 remaining in the quarter.

Green Canyon answered with a touchdown of their own when Jaxson Curtis caught a one-yard TD pass from Lundin early in the fourth quarter. That trim Sky View’s lead to 28-14.

The Bobcats picked off Lundin again, this time it was Isaac Larsen and he took the ball 92-yards for a touchdown to stretch their lead to 35-14 midway through the fourth quarter. Late in the quarter, the Wolves picked up a touchdown from Cordell Coats from 27-yards out.

Sky View improved their record to 5-0 on the season. They will travel to No. 20 Rideline next Thursday at 7 p.m.

Green Canyon dropped to 2-3 on the year. They will head to Mountain Crest next Friday at 7 p.m.

The Game Night Live Game of the Week next week will feature a Region 4 battle as the 3rd ranked Skyridge Falcons host No. 2 American Fork Cavemen. The game will be on Friday, September 18 at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on KSLSports.com and the KSL TV app.
