American Fork Moves Up To No. 2 In Latest KSLSports.com Game Night Live Power Rankings

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – After putting up 69 points in their win over East last week, American Fork moved up into the top two.
Corner Canyon remains in the top spot for the fifth straight week after winning their 30th straight game with their 51-14 win over Jordan.
Each week the KSL Sports team votes on the top 20 schools in the state across all classifications.
Here is the Game Night Live Top 20 power rankings in the state of Utah as voted on by the KSL Sports team entering the fifth week of the season.
20. Ridgeline RiverHawks (3-0)
The Riverhawks are rolling through the first portion of the season. Other than a four-point win over Pine View in the season opener, Ridgeline has dominated their opponents. In their last two games, they have scored 69 points while holding their foes to 14 points. A big road test this week in region play against Bear River.

19. Herriman Mustangs (2-2)
After a tough 0-2 start to the season with losses to Davis and Corner Canyon, the Mustangs have bounced back with two big wins. Their first win was two weeks ago over West Jordan, 17-14 but their signature win came last week when they knocked off then-No. 12 Westlake at home. It gets harder over the next two weeks for Herriman with road games at American Fork and Bingham.

18. Wasatch Wasps (3-1)
The Wasps had a minor setback after suffering their first loss of the season on the road against No. 5 Pleasant Grove. Other than the loss, Wasatch has been dominant this season.

17. Olympus Titans (2-2)
It’s been a challenging season for the Titans thus far. A season opening loss to Mountain Ridge set up a 9-point win over Hunter in Week 2. After barely losing to Kearns, the Titans opened region play with a 49-3 blowout win over the win-less Murray Spartans. A tough task this week as they host No. 7 Brighton.

16. Westlake Thunder (3-1)
Through the first four weeks of the season, Westlake is the only Region 4 team to lose a game this season. The entire region is 23-1 to start the season. Westlake fell to No. 19 Herriman, 17-15. The Thunder had an opportunity to tie the game after scoring a touchdown with 1:47 remaining but failed the two-point conversion. A big home game coming up on Friday as they will host No. 12 Bingham.

15. Salem Hills SkyHawks (3-0)
The SkyHawks are coming off of a bye week after a 3-0 start to the season. They have outscored their opponents 89-25. Their wins came against Mountain Crest, Fremont and Juab. A very talented Highland team is on the docket this week before Salem Hills will jump into region play.

14. Maple Mountain Golden Eagles (3-1)
The Golden Eagles’ only loss this season was in Week 2 at Pleasant Grove. Since then, Maple Mountain has won their last two games, outscoring their opponents 78-15. They will host Murray, who is in search of their first win. Maple Mountain will jump into region play in two weeks.

13. Lehi Pioneers (3-1)
After a disappointing shutout loss to American Fork to open the season, Lehi has won their last three games by at least 10 points or more. The Pioneers have scored 104 points in the last three contests, while allowing just 32 points.

12. Bingham Miners (1-2)
After two tough losses to start the season, Bingham picked up a big win over Timpview last week, 31-21. The Miners were in need of a victory after starting the season 0-2. It gets difficult for the Miners starting this week with a road clash with No. 16 Westlake.

11. Sky View Bobcats (4-0)
The Bobcats won their first game by 8 points but after that it’s been blowout wins over Bonneville and two schools in Idaho. In the last three games, Sky View has scored at least 42 points or more. They will be featured as the Game Night Live Game of the Week on Friday when they begin region play versus Green Canyon.

10. Roy Royals (4-0)
After a couple of close wins, Roy picked up a blowout victory with a 35-6 win over Layton last week. Region 1 play continues this week as they will play their next two games on the road beginning this Friday at Syracuse.

9. Orem Tigers (3-1)
The Tigers suffered their first loss of the season in Week 3 to Skyridge. They bounced back last week with a 10-point win over Alta. The rest of the regular season slate looks daunting with two of their last four games against ranked teams. All four at one point this season have been ranked in the top 20.

8. Kearns Cougars (4-0)
Last week, Kearns dismantled Taylorsville at home with an 84-3 win. They scored 60 points in the first half. The Cougars will have their final non-region game this week before finishing the rest of the regular season with Region 2 opponents.

7. Brighton Bengals (4-0)
The offense has been in a groove for the Bengals all season, scoring 35 points or more in all four games. Defensively, they have limited their opponents to 38 points in the last three games. Brighton is coming off of a 36-17 win over Bountiful. The next challenge is a road matchup with No. 17 Olympus.

6. Davis Darts (4-0)
The Darts are off to a great start this season after a 49-25 win over Clearfield last week. It doesn’t seem like they have really been challenged thus far other than their season opening win over Herriman. Davis will host Layton this week, who is searching for their first win. Then the big showdown with Roy is on Friday, September 18 at home.

5. Pleasant Grove Vikings (4-0)
The Vikings have been truly tested once so far in 2020. That was in Week 2 when they beat Maple Mountain, 19-14. In their last two games in wins over Jordan and Wasatch, Pleasant Grove has outscored their opponents 78-10. The rest of the season will be challenging as they will end non-region play at No. 13 Lehi before jumping into the gauntlet that is Region 4.

4. Lone Peak Knights (4-0)
The Knights have been tremendous on both sides of the ball but very impressive on defense. Lone Peak’s defense has allowed just 18 points in their four games this season. On offense, they have scored 163 points. They are coming off of a 55-7 win on the road against Farmington last week. Orem will be their final non-region game before starting Region 4 play.

3. Skyridge Falcons (4-0)
After a 42-0 win over Copper Hills last week, the Falcons look ready to take on Region 4. First, they will host Jordan, who is searching for their first win of the season.

2. American Fork Cavemen (4-0)
The Cavemen came out on top of an offensive shootout with a 69-49 win over East this past week. Quarterback Maddux Madsen threw 9 touchdown passes in the win. American Fork has scored 43 points or more in three of their four games this year. They will finish the non-region portion of their season at home against No. 19 Herriman this week before starting Region 4 play.

1. Corner Canyon Chargers (4-0)
Another week and another win for Corner Canyon. They have now won 30 straight games after their 51-14 win over Jordan. Jaxson Dart threw six touchdown passes, connecting with Noah Kjar three times, Cody Hagen twice and Jett Meine once. Hayden Easterly added a rushing TD in the win.
