ORLANDO, Fla. – Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell came up with another tremendous performance to help the Jazz beat the Denver Nuggets 129-127 in Game 4 of the NBA Playoffs.

The Jazz now lead the series 3-1.

Mitchell finished with 51 points. It’s the second playoff game in the last four that Mitchell has scored 50 points or more in a game. He shot 15 of 27 from the field, 4 for 7 from downtown and 17 of 18 from the free throw line.

Nuggets guard Jamal Murray led the way with 50 points. It was the first time in NBA Playoff history that two opposing players scored 45 points or more in the same game.

Donovan Mitchell Comes Up Big

In the fourth quarter, Mitchell was driving to the basket when he met former Jazzman Paul Millsap. Millsap blocked Mitchell’s shot and stared him down. Shortly after, Mitchell drilled a three-pointer while Millsap was contesting the shot.

Only three other players in NBA history have scored 50 points or more in multiple games in a single NBA Playoff run. Mitchell joins Michael Jordan who did it twice, Wilt Chamberlain and Allen Iverson.

Mitchell started strong with 13 points in the opening quarter. He added 9 points to his first half total of 22. In the third quarter, Mitchell notched 11 points and finished on fire with 18 points in the fourth quarter.

Mike Conley scored 26 points in Utah’s win after dropping 27 points in their Game 3 win in Conley’s return to the bubble after the birth of his son. Rudy Gobert posted a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Jordan Clarkson added 24 points off the bench.

Jamal Murray Sets Franchise Record

Jamal Murray dropped 50 points for the Nuggets which is a franchise playoff record. He also pulled down 11 rebounds and dished out 7 assists on 18 of 31 shooting from the field and 9 for 15 from the three-point line.

Nikola Jokic added 29 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Paul Millsap chipped in 16 points and 7 boards.

Game 5 will be on Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. MT. The game will be broadcast on TNT and AT&T SportsNet.
