Red-Hot Perimeter Shooting Helps Jazz Claim Win Over Grizzlies

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Utah Jazz snapped a two-game losing streak in the bubble with a 124-115 win over the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Jazz picked up a spark from their starting lineup as all five players scored in double figures led Joe Ingles with 25 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists. He knocked down 6 of his 11 attempts from the three-point line.

Mike Conley recorded 23 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists on 4 of 9 shooting from downtown against his old team.

Rudy Gobert picked up another double-double with 21 points, 16 rebounds and 3 blocks. Donovan Mitchell added 18 points, 7 boards and 6 assists. Finally, Royce O’Neale chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds.

Three-Point Shooting

The Jazz were able to get hot from beyond the arc by hitting 18 of their 45 attempts from the perimeter for 40 percent. Joe Ingles made six triples, Mike Conley hit four 3’s, O’Neale and Mitchell each connected on three three-pointers each while Jordan Clarkson and Georges Niang each made one.

Utah trailed by 13 points midway through the second quarter but received a big spark with a 22-1 run that proved to be a big factor in the Jazz getting the win.

The late first half run was comprised entirely from baskets by the Jazz starting lineup featuring Mike Conley, Donovan Mitchell, Joe Ingles, Royce O’Neale, and Rudy Gobert.

Playoff Standings

Utah improved to 43-25 on the season and will have four reseeding games remaining before the Playoffs. They moved up to fourth place in the Western Conference and are one and a half games behind the Denver Nuggets for the No. 3 spot. The Jazz are only a half of a game ahead of Houston, who sits in fifth place and one game ahead of the sixth place Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Jazz will be off on Thursday before they return to action on Friday morning against the San Antonio Spurs. Tip-off is set for 11:00 a.m. MT and will be broadcast on AT&T SportsNet.
