SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz will resume their season against the Phoenix Suns Thursday night. The game if the first of three scrimmages the Jazz will play before reopening the NBA season on July 30 against the New Orleans Pelicans. The NBA season was suspended on March 11 after Jazz center Rudy Gobert tested positive for COVID-19. The first NBA scrimmages began on Wednesday, the final scrimmages will be played Tuesday July 28. With the NBA season having taken a four-month hiatus, this is a quick reminder of the all the dates, games, and payers you need to know ahead of the Jazz and NBA return.

Jazz Roster

The Jazz roster will be nearly full when the team retakes the floor in Orlando. Bojan Bogdanovic underwent season-ending wrist surgery in May when the NBA’s return was in doubt. The Jazz brought 16 players to Orlando, including two-way players Jarrell Brantley and Justin Wright-Foreman.

Jazz Scrimmage Schedule

Each team within the NBA bubble will play three scrimmage games before reopening the season. The first scrimmage for each team consists of four 10 minute quarters. The final two scrimmages feature full 12 minute quarters.

Jazz Eight Game Seeding Schedule

The Jazz will play eight seeding games before opening the NBA playoffs in mid-August. The Jazz currently own the fourth seed in the Western Conference. Based on current standings, the Jazz can climb as high as the West’s second seed, and fall as low a the seventh seed before the end of the seeding games.

The Jazz have the fifth easiest remaining schedule of the Western Conference teams returning to Orlando.
