SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Bojan Bogdanovic underwent successful surgery on the rupture scapholunate ligament in his right wrist. Dr. Michelle Carlson performed the surgery in New York City according to the Utah Jazz.

Bogdanovic will begin his rehabilitation at the appropriate time. There is no timetable or his return. The Croatian isn’t expected to return until the 2020-21 NBA season.

Bogdanovic injured his wrist early in the season and played through discomfort for most of the year. After meeting with multiple specialists during the league’s hiatus it was determined that Bogdanovic would need the surgery.

The forward averaged 20.2 points per game in his first season with the Jazz. Bogdanovic is one of two players this season to average more than 20 points per game while shooting better than 40 percent from the three-point line.

Bogdanovic will leave a glaring hole in the team’s starting line up. Not only is the forward the team’s second-leading scorer, but he’s also the second leading three-point shooter on the team.

Life After Bogdanovic Surgery

Joe Ingles would likely move back into the team’s starting lineup. Forward Royce O’Neale would shift to the power forward position.

The lineup would likely see an improvement on the defensive end of the floor, though it would lose a strong scoring presence.

O’Neale has seen a dramatic drop in his three-point shooter percentage since the beginning of 2020. The forward shot a blistering 45 percent to begin the season, However, that number has dropped to just 33 percent since the new year.
